Silver Springs - Martin Luther School follows each child who is discharged to a family member or to Foster Family Care, contacting the family at 3 to 6, 12, 24 and 36-month intervals to see how the child and family are doing, to check whether all needed supports are in place, and to serve as a resource should complications develop. Of the children discharged to a less restrictive setting (such as their home), three years after leaving Silver Springs over 80% continue to remain in a less restrictive setting.
